You do not need farming experience

You need a willingness to show up, get your hands dirty, and be present for a few days. This retreat was built for women who are craving something slower, more intentional, and more real. Whether you are burned out, at a crossroads, or simply aching for a life that feels more grounded, you will find your people here.

Retreats are intentionally small and attendance is by application. This allows us to ensure the experience is right for everyone in the group and for you.

Four days. One farm. Everything from scratch.

Days begin with the farm: morning chores, pasture walks, animal care. Because the farm does not wait, and neither does this. From there, afternoons move into hands-on workshops. Soft cheese from the morning's milk. Preservation from the afternoon's harvest. Fermentation, bread, butchery, garden work. You will not watch a demonstration. You will do it.

Evenings are long and unhurried. Dinners are set at a long table from what the farm produced that day. Conversation goes somewhere. The fire stays lit. Your nervous system gets what it has been asking for.

Jennifer and Matt, the farmers and your hosts, work alongside you every day. This is their home. You are a guest in it, and that distinction matters.

Five weekends. Limited spaces.
We receive more applications than available spaces. Apply for every date you are able to attend and note your preferences in the application.

Tucked into the hills outside Kansas City

Moxie Farms sits in the rolling hills near Smithville Lake, surrounded by thousands of acres of wildlife land. Guests stay together in geodesic dome accommodations and move through shared dining and common spaces throughout the weekend. There is no resort. There is a farm, and it is beautiful.

Every meal tells you exactly where it came from.
Pasture-raised meats, raw dairy, and organically grown seasonal produce come to the table three times a day, and you will have had a hand in most of it. The food is not a perk. It is the curriculum. By Sunday, you will not just know what farm-to-table means. You will have lived it from start to finish.
