Jennifer and Matt Vahldick, along with their children, are the founders and operators of Moxie Farms. What began as a powerful mission to nourish someone they loved who was ailing ignited something they could not walk away from. A passion for raising the best possible food and getting it directly to families who need it.
Together they have spent over two decades building and sustaining a diversified farm operation rooted in soil health, biodiversity, and grassland management. All of it in service of one goal: a year-round food source built on consistency, efficiency, and long-term viability.
Their work spans organic produce, pasture-raised livestock, raw dairy, value-added foods, and direct-to-consumer distribution structured around real household demand. Jennifer leads production planning and system design, aligning what is grown with what families actually need throughout the year. Matt brings deep hands-on experience in land management, livestock systems, and the practical realities that determine whether a plan works in the field.
The food raised here feeds their own children first. The standards held at Moxie Farms are tested at their own table before they are extended to anyone else.
Choosing a farm is choosing who you trust.
We do not take that lightly.
Moxie Farms is a regenerative farm built on stewardship, responsibility, and trust. Everything we grow and raise is shaped by one guiding principle: if we would not feed it to our own family with confidence, we do not offer it to our members.
Our farm is rooted in regenerative practices that prioritize soil health, animal welfare, and long-term resilience. We believe the health of the land, the animals, and the people who eat the food are inseparable. Rather than pushing production, we work within the natural limits of the land. We plan carefully, rotate intentionally, and make decisions that protect both the ecosystem and the families who rely on us.
We have been farming this way for over two decades. That experience matters. Stability is built through seasons of problem solving, adaptation, and follow through. Our systems exist because they have been tested under real pressure and proven to hold.
What we raise here is organically raised and pasture-based, planned intentionally for our members year-round:
Experience is what allows us to offer stability
when the food system feels uncertain.
At Moxie Farms, how we farm is inseparable from why we farm. Every practice on this land is chosen to protect the soil, support the ecosystem, and raise food that is genuinely clean from the ground up.
We build soil health through composting, cover cropping, and reduced tillage, preserving soil structure, nutrients, and water retention across every growing season. Crop rotation and intercropping encourage biodiversity, protect against pest pressure, and eliminate the need for synthetic intervention. We introduce beneficial insects to naturally balance harmful ones. Native grasses, wildflowers, shrubs, and tree species are seeded and propagated throughout the farm to support pollinators, wildlife habitat, and long-term ecological resilience.
Livestock are fully integrated into this system. Porcine and poultry rotate behind ruminants, breaking pest cycles, removing unwanted plant species, and continuously contributing to soil health. Our dairy cattle are A2/A2 and every ruminant on the farm is 100% grass fed.
No grain. Ever.
We do not use any chemical pesticide, herbicide, fungicide, or insecticide. Not as a marketing claim. As a standard we hold
without exception.
This is not a collection of individual practices. It is an interconnected system, refined over two decades, designed to produce food that is clean, consistent, and raised with full accountability to the land and
the families we serve.
